What is the PII-Safe Layer?
The PII-Safe Layer is Altitude's privacy enforcement mechanism, combining spatial and temporal aggregation, minimum count thresholds, and role-based access to prevent identification of individuals or fleets.
Our PII-Safe Layer eliminates personally identifiable information (PII) while aggregating the data retaining its analytical value. We apply spatial and temporal aggregation and minimum count thresholds to further ensure privacy of individuals and confidentiality of the fleets that contribute to the data.
Outputs are delivered only as aggregated, up-to-date historical Commercial Movement Insights at geographic or corridor levels, and never as individual vehicles, drivers, customers or fleets. Role-based access provides an additional protection layer.
